Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts Teaching License in Special Education (Moderate/Severe Disabilities) or related licensure.
• Knowledge of DESE regulations, IDEA, and Section 504 compliance.
• Experience with IEP/504 plan development, monitoring, and collaboration with families.
• Ability to coordinate services across settings and support staff.

Responsibilities

• Support student outcomes and family engagement.
• Collaborate with principal/head of school to provide inclusive environment and ensure participation in general education with peers.
• Coordinate continuum of services for students with disabilities and those at risk; liaise with outside agencies.
• Chair IEP/504 processes as needed and ensure timely documentation for annual reviews and transitions starting at age 14.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal special education regulations; manage assessments, notices, and parent consent processes.
• Participate in dispute resolution, professional development, and OSS-led activities.

Education

Massachusetts Teaching License in Special Education

Knowledge of DESE Regulations, IDEA, and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act

Experience developing and implementing IEPs and 504 plans

Ability to collaborate with families and schools
