Job summary

Codman Academy Charter Public School in Boston, MA seeks a seasoned Coordinator of Special Education (COSE) to lead compliant, high-quality services for students with disabilities. Qualifications

• Valid Massachusetts DESE License in Special Education (Moderate or Severe Disabilities) and/or School Social Worker/School Adjustment Counselor or Speech-Language Pathologist.
• Strong knowledge of IDEA, DESE regulations, and Section 504.
• Experience coordinating IEPs, eligibility, accommodations, and related services.
• Ability to collaborate with families, teachers, and service providers and to lead in an urban charter school context.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate all special education services across the school.
• Lead compliance with IDEA, Section 504, and DESE regulations.
• Chair IEP team meetings, initial/reevaluation/placement and annual reviews as needed.
• Develop and oversee IEPs and service plans; ensure timely meetings and parent consent; ensure access to general education with supports.
• Coordinate services with outside agencies and contracted providers; liaison with evaluators, therapists, and community partners.
• Monitor Medicaid processes, data reporting, and compliance; provide professional development on inclusive practices.
