Job summary

Boston Public Schools is seeking an exceptional Coordinator of Special Education (COSE) to lead IEP and 504 processes, coordinate services, and ensure FAPE and LRE for students with disabilities. The role emphasizes collaboration with administrators, teachers, families, and outside providers to improve student outcomes.

Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Special Education or a related field.
• Administrative/supervisory certification and experience in educational setting is preferred.
• Massachusetts teaching license in Special Education and knowledge of DESE/IDEA/504 regulations are required.

Responsibilities

• Support the improvement of student outcomes and engage families as partners.
• Collaborate with the Principal/Head of School to provide a respectful, inclusive environment and ensure students with disabilities participate with peers.
• Coordinate services for students with disabilities, chair eligibility and IEP/504 meetings, and assist with compliance and data reporting.
• Engage with families and outside agencies to coordinate services and supports.
