Job summary

Kenilworth Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Preschool Classroom Aide for Harding Elementary School. This part-time position runs Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 1:30 PM, supporting SPED students with learning activities, personal care, and behaviors under staff supervision. Requirements include a high school diploma, background check, and proof of U.S.

citizenship or legal residency. Spanish-speaking ability is desirable.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
3. Willingness to actively assist special education students in the performance of learning activities, personal care, and/or toileting.
4. Ability to work collaboratively with appropriate building staff.
5. Experience working with students with behavioral/ learning needs and/or previous experience working as an aide with behavioral support.
6. Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred.
7. Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification a plus.
8. Bilingual- Spanish speaking ability desired.

Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A. 52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).

REPORTS TO:

Principal/Director of Student Personnel Services

TERMS:

$30.71 per Hour; terms as stated below.
