Job summary

Kenilworth Public Schools in New Jersey seeks a part-time Special Education Classroom Aide to support students at Harding Elementary School. Work hours are 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM and 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM on a Monday–Friday split schedule for the 2026-2027 school year.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, ability to pass background check and residency requirements, willingness to assist with learning activities, personal care, and/or toileting, plus experience with behavioral/learning needs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status.
• Willingness to actively assist special-education students in learning activities, personal care, and/or toileting.
• Ability to collaborate with appropriate building staff.
• Experience working with students with behavioral/learning needs and/or previous aide experience with behavioral support.
• Knowledge of ABA-Applied Behavior Analysis preferred.
• RBT-Registered Behavior Technician certification a plus.
• Bilingual- Spanish speaking ability desired.
• Must meet NJ Residency requirements as per the New Jersey First Act, N.J.S.A.52:14-7 (L.2011, Chapter 70).

Responsibilities

• Assist special education students in learning activities.
• Provide personal care and toileting assistance as needed.
• Collaborate with classroom staff to support student needs.
• Support behavioral plans and ABA strategies where applicable.
