Job summary

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any field from a regionally accredited institution.
Completion of a foundations of special education course or willingness to take the course as a term of employment.
Will work towards obtaining a provisional Special Education License from the state.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain relationships with students, peers, administrators, support staff and parents.
Assess student achievement and maintain documentation for reporting.
Design and implement instructional strategies and activities.
Manage student behaviors to ensure a conducive learning environment.
Coordinate instructional activities with other staff to maximize learning.
Participate in in-service and professional development activities.
Communicate instructional expectations to students and parents.
Collaborate with professionals to support schoolwide activities.
Use multimedia and technologies to enhance learning.
Plan lessons based on objectives for students with varying abilities.
Provide development and management for IEPs, BSPs, etc.
Other duties as assigned.
