Job summary

Applitrack is recruiting a Paraprofessional to support students in the COMPASS classroom at Mahomet-Seymour High School in Illinois. The role collaborates with certified staff to support academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions for students with disabilities.

The ideal candidate holds an Illinois Paraprofessional License (or Teaching License) or is able to obtain licensure, and brings strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Illinois Paraprofessional License (or Teaching License) or ability to obtain required licensure.
• Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, or academic needs preferred.
• Ability to build positive relationships with students while maintaining clear expectations and boundaries.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support to students in the COMPASS classroom under the supervision of certified staff.
• Assist with implementing academic, behavioral, and social-emotional interventions.
• Support students with classroom assignments, organization, and task completion.
• Help maintain a structured, calm, and supportive learning environment.
• Assist with behavior monitoring, de-escalation strategies, and reinforcement plans.
• Supervise students during transitions, breaks, lunch, or other assigned times.
• Collect and maintain student progress and behavior data as directed.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to meet student needs.
• Maintain confidentiality and demonstrate professionalism in all interactions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
