Qualifications

• High School diploma required.
• Some college preferred.
• Competency in reading, writing, and mathematics.
• Ability to motivate and work with students with special needs.
• Ability to follow teacher instructions with minimal supervision.
• Completion of Physical Management Training, CPR, First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogen and other required trainings.

Responsibilities

• Assist the teacher with strategies to reinforce learning for individual students or small groups.
• Prepare and collect instructional materials as directed; monitor and document progress.
• Work with students to reinforce skills and guide independent study and remedial work.
• Alert the teacher to problems or information about a student.
• Collaborate with teachers, aides, administrators, and parents to support student needs.
• Utilize technology for communication and data collection in the classroom.
• Support with daily living activities and classroom routines as needed.
