Job summary

Westwood Heights Schools is seeking a Paraprofessional (Instructional / Special Education Support) for a full-time 10-month position. The role supports students under certified teachers, implementing learning activities and managing classroom tasks per IEPs and general classroom needs.

Candidates must meet MDE requirements or Title I standards as outlined, including a high school diploma/GED plus one of the specified education routes. Background checks are required by policy and law.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required, plus one of: AA/AS degree, 60 credits, or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with reading, writing, and math under teacher guidance.
• Reinforce behavioral supports, IEP accommodations, and classroom rules.
• Prepare instructional materials and maintain an organized learning environment.
• Provide physical or self-care assistance to students as required by placement.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student information and progress.
