Job summary

The ROCORI Public School District is seeking a Paraprofessional Special Education to support teachers and students in learning lesson plans and individualized programs, and to provide close supervision and assistance as needed.

You will reinforce instruction, assist with classroom activities, monitor student progress, and help implement Individualized Education Plans, while collaborating with staff and families to foster a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associates degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Experience working with students with special needs preferred.
• Knowledge of classroom teaching practices and methods.
• Ability to use standard classroom equipment and technology.

Responsibilities

• Guide and work through lesson plans with students, correcting tasks and recording results.
• Assist students with getting to classes and daily activities.
• Monitor student behavior and provide positive reinforcement.
• Assist teachers with projects and prepare materials for activities.
• Support individual education plans and job coaching as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
