East Baton Rouge Parish School System is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to assist teachers in a special education setting. You will support instructional programs, manage classroom activities, and help with student mobility and personal care under supervision.

Responsibilities include preparing instructional materials, maintaining records, and supervising students throughout the day. A high school diploma and completion of college credit hours or an associate degree are required, plus

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 48 college credit hours with required courses.
• Associate's degree (or higher) from an accredited institution.
• Minimum score of 450 on the ETS Parapro Exam.

Responsabilidades

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom environment.
• Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Assist teachers in maintaining administrative records and preparing reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and positioning as trained.
• Support students with physical needs and personal care under supervision.
• Assist in managing student behavior and intervene in crisis situations as needed.
• Attend to individual students' special medical, physical, and communication needs.
• Work with students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct exercises.
• Supervise students during lunch, bus, and playground times.
• Keep teachers informed of any special needs or problems.
