East Baton Rouge Parish School System is seeking an organized paraprofessional to assist teachers in providing instructional support for students with disabilities. You will help with materials, classroom setup, and basic student care under the supervision of a certified teacher.

Responsibilities include supervising students, aiding in daily activities, maintaining records, and collaborating with staff to implement classroom programs. A high school diploma and appropriate coursework are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Two years of college (48 credits) with required courses.
• Associate's degree or higher from an accredited institution.
• Minimum ETS Parapro Exam score of 450.

Responsabilités

• Assist teachers in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Maintain inventory and care of classroom equipment.
• Assist with administrative records and required reports.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Assist students with physical disabilities including transfers and positioning.
• Assist with personal care and daily living activities as trained.
• Support behavior management and crisis intervention as needed.
• Work with students individually or in small groups to develop motor skills.
• Supervise students during the day, including lunchroom, bus, and playground.
• Inform teachers about student needs and issues.
• Participate in staff meetings and training.
• Maintain confidentiality of personnel and students.
