Job summary

Springfield Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support rigorous academic and behavior intervention systems for a small caseload of students. The role collaborates with a special educator to drive student achievement and to support families and teachers in the classroom.

Responsibilities include leading daily tutoring sessions, implementing intervention systems, and communicating effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or GED required.
• 60 college credits or an Associate's degree or passing ParaPro/WorkKeys assessment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment and manage a small caseload.

Responsibilities

• Assist a special educator with a small caseload to drive student achievement.
• Implement rigorous academic and behavior intervention systems.
• Provide high expectations for academic and behavioral standards.
• Support student mastery of state, city, and district standards.
• Lead daily tutoring sessions, individually and in small groups.
• Communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues.

Education
