Norman Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support instructional activities and supervise students under the supervision of a licensed teacher. The role requires assisting in classrooms, managing behavior, and supporting with materials and student needs in a special education environment.

Applicants must meet Tier 1 Paraprofessional requirements or have equivalent credentials, and be willing to obtain Tier 2 certification within 120 days.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• College coursework is preferred and may assist in meeting Tier 1 Paraprofessional Requirements.
• Must meet Tier 1 Paraprofessional Requirements.
• Willingness to complete Tier 2 Paraprofessional Certification within 120 days of employment.

Responsabilités

• Assist with instruction and activities for individuals or groups as assigned by the teacher.
• Supervise students in instructional settings and during non-instructional times.
• Serve as main contact for substitute teachers.
• Assist with student behavior management and respond to student needs.
• Provide support with meals, transportation, and classroom operations.
• Maintain confidentiality at all times.
