Norman Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support instructional activities and supervise students across settings. The role requires meeting Tier 1 paraprofessional requirements and may involve CPR/First Aid and universal precautions training within 120 days.

Reporting to the Building Principal, the paraprofessional will assist with materials, supervise bus routes, and help maintain a safe classroom environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; college coursework preferred to assist meeting Tier 1 requirements.
• Must meet Tier 1 Paraprofessional Requirements; prior work or volunteer experience with children preferred.
• Complete CPR and First Aid certification; Universal Precautions/Bloodborne Pathogens training; 120 days to certification.

Responsabilités

• Assist with instruction and activities for individuals or groups as assigned by the teacher.
• Supervise students in instructional settings, off-campus activities, and non-instructional periods (recess, assemblies, drills, lunch).
• Serve as main contact for substitute teachers and assist with behavior management.
• Prepare and adapt instructional materials and teaching aids; operate equipment as needed.
• Maintain strict confidentiality at all times and perform other duties as assigned.
