Job summary
Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District is seeking a Middle or Elementary School Paraprofessional to assist teachers, counselors and administrators in delivering educational services to students with special needs at Baumgardner Middle School. Work includes supporting remedial, enrichment, and independent living activities.
The role requires 2 years of college coursework (or an associate degree or higher) and an active Educational Aide Permit or teaching license.
Qualifications
- 2 years of college coursework or an Associate's Degree or higher
- An active Educational Aide Permit or teaching license issued by the Ohio Department of Education
- One year of related successful work experience
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Experience operating basic office equipment (copiers)
- Ability to lift equipment, supplies and/or children up to 40 pounds
- Physical ability to perform all essential functions of the job
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers, counselors and administrators in providing educational services to students with special needs.
- Support instructional and educational goals in classrooms.
- Assist students with remedial, enrichment and independent living activities.
