Job summary

Woodland Hills School District seeks a paraprofessional for Turtle Creek Elementary STEAM Academy to assist students with special needs under a certified teacher. The role primarily supports inclusive education settings, helping with daily activities, safety, and dignity for students with diverse needs.

The paraprofessional will follow IEPs/504 plans, provide one-on-one and small-group instruction, and collaborate with Special Education and Regular Education staff.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or 48 college credits or paraprofessional competency exam.
• Computer literate and able to operate a variety of office equipment including photocopiers and AV equipment.
• Work in an inclusionary setting to support students with special needs and assist the teacher.

Responsibilities

• Provide assistance to multiple support areas such as Autistic, Emotional, Learning and Life Skills Support as assigned; provide one-on-one assistance as indicated by IEP/504.
• Follow IEP to assist students in specified needs.
• Follow classroom procedures and policies.
• Maintain student supervision at all times during transitions, PE, and transportation.
• Attend trainings as needed and support special education students in a co-teaching model.
• Assist in planning, preparation, and distribution of materials.
