Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional for Miles Elementary School for the 2026-2027 school year. The paraprofessional provides in-person and virtual instructional support, assists with classroom management, and supports students with individualized needs to promote academic achievement and positive behavior.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or 60 college hours earned at an accredited institution.
• High School Diploma or GED with passing scores on the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment Test.
• Paraprofessional certification issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission or eligible.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional support with classroom management and small-group instruction.
• Assist in implementing academic and behavioral interventions to support student progress.
• Support inclusive learning environments for diverse learners, including students with disabilities and multilingual learners.
• Supervise students to maintain a safe, orderly learning environment and support transitions.
• Utilize technology and instructional resources to support teaching and testing activities.
• Collaborate with teachers, families, and staff to support attendance and engagement.
• Participate in professional learning and maintain confidentiality; attend required trainings.
• Be on-site during regular hours and available to work as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the administrator.
