Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools seeks a dedicated Special Education Paraprofessional to support teachers in providing individualized instruction and behavioral supports for students with disabilities in the classroom and community. This on-site role reports to the school principal and requires presence in the school building location.

You will implement IEP-based activities, collect data, assist with testing, and help prepare daily lesson materials, meals, and transitions.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of experience with children preferred.
• Ability to instruct in-person within the school building.
• Proficient computer skills and data collection for IEPs.
• Strong written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in meeting instructional, behavioral, and social-emotional needs of students with disabilities.
• Provide small group and individualized instruction aligned to IEPs.
• Collect instructional and behavioral data for objectives.
• Assist with Behavior Intervention Plans and testing processes.
• Communicate proactively with teachers and parents.
• Ensure materials, meals, and supplies are distributed as needed.
