Job summary

Atlanta Public Schools is seeking a self-motivated Special Education Paraprofessional to support teachers in meeting the educational, behavioral, and social emotional needs of students with disabilities in the classroom and community. This position reports to the School Principal and will be assigned to be physically present in the school building location.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: GA Paraprofessional Certificate OR High School Diploma/GED with paraprofessional assessment OR Associate's degree/2

Qualifications

GA Paraprofessional Certificate or equivalent.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Two years of experience with children preferred.
In-person instruction eligibility and ability to work on-site.

Responsibilities

Support teachers in meeting instructional, behavioral, and social needs in school and community.
Provide small group and/or individualized instruction per IEP.
Collect data for objectives and monitor progress.
Assist with behavioral plans and daily lesson materials.
Communicate with teachers, parents, and school leaders in a timely manner.
Assist during testing and with classroom/ cafeteria routines.
Ensure safety, sanitation, and orderly transitions between locations.
