Job summary

Poudre School District is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to provide instructional and physical support for students with significant needs. You will assist both general and special education teachers with accommodations and materials, helping students access the curriculum.

Responsibilities include implementing behavior strategies, supervising students across settings, and coordinating with nursing and staff for health and safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of related experience preferred.
• Criminal background check required for hire.
• CPI training within 3 months of hire.
• Special Education Paraprofessional Academy classes may be required within first 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers with instruction and materials for students with significant support needs.
• Implement behavior intervention strategies and de-escalate crises.
• Monitor students in classrooms and common areas to ensure safety.
• Provide hygiene, feeding, mobility assistance, and health care collaboration.
• Assist with documentation for IEP meetings and progress tracking.
• Support development of self-regulation and daily living skills.
