Job summary

Hamilton County Schools in Chattanooga, TN is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a licensed teacher. You will assist with implementing IEP goals, preparing instructional materials, and providing small group or one-on-one support in general or special education classrooms.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; basic technology skills; or equivalent.
One year of experience working with students with disabilities preferred.
PRAXIS Parapro or higher education requirement may be needed for some roles.

Responsibilities

Assist in implementing Individual Education Programs (IEPs) and preparing instructional materials.
Provide educational assistance and data collection to monitor student progress.
Support nonviolent crisis intervention training and de-escalation techniques.
Chaperone field trips during the school day and supervise students as needed.
Assist with clerical tasks and maintain confidentiality in line with district policies.
