Job summary

Hamilton County Schools seeks a dedicated paraprofessional to support students with disabilities at Ooltewah Elementary School. This role involves assisting licensed teachers, implementing IEPs, and delivering targeted instructional support in general or special education settings.

You will prepare instructional materials, monitor progress, and help maintain a safe, inclusive classroom environment. Experience with diverse needs and collaboration with staff is essential for success.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; basic technology and clerical skills.
• Equivalence options: 48 semester hours, 72 quarter hours, an Associate degree, or PRAXIS Parapro pass.
• One year of experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide educational assistance to students with disabilities and support teacher in implementing IEPs.
• Assist in preparing, modifying, and utilizing instructional materials to meet individual student needs.
• Assist with data collection and progress monitoring of student development in multiple domains.
• Provide with physical assistance and personal care as defined by IEPs and safety procedures.
• Chaperone students on field trips and support classroom activities and technology use.
• Perform clerical tasks to support teaching activities and school operations.
