Job summary

Anne Arundel County Public Schools in Maryland seeks a Teacher Assistant: Special Education to support the instructional program in a Title I school. The successful candidate will assist the classroom teacher, support students with disabilities, collect progress data, and help implement IEP plans.

Assignment may be 10 or 12 months. Requirements include a High School diploma or equivalent and either 48 college credits or passing the Parapro exam.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalency Certificate required.
• To work in a Title I-funded school, 48 college credit hours or a passing score on a paraprofessional assessment issued by ETS or NES, required.
• Previous experience working with students with disabilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Adapt activities and materials to support classroom objectives.
• Assist in instructional programs and provide instruction in varied activities.
• Participate in implementing IEP goals and behavioral plans.
• Perform clerical tasks to prepare instructional materials.
• Maintain data collection and documentation of activities and assistance.
