Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• To work in a Title I-funded school, 48 college credit hours or a passing paraprofessional assessment (ETS or NES) is required.

Responsibilities

• Adapts classroom activities and materials under the teacher’s direction to support objectives.
• Assists in implementing instructional programs and provides instruction in individual and group activities.
• Participates in implementing IEP goals and behavioral plans for students with disabilities.
• Performs clerical tasks to assist in preparing instructional materials.
• Maintains data collection and documentation of activities and assistance provided to students.
• Attends meetings, professional development, and trainings.
• Assists with basic health care needs and personal care tasks as directed by health staff and IEP plans.
• Assists students with mobility needs and safe transportation within the school.
• Helps students access electronic communicators and assistive devices.
• Monitors students during pre-lunch and lunch periods in various school settings.
• Performs other related duties within the same classification.

Education
