Job summary

Wayzeta Public Schools is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, self-care, and social/behavioral needs. The roles begin for the 2026-27 school year and work under the direction of licensed teachers.

Responsibilities include implementing IEP-based tasks, supervising students, observing and recording data, assisting with mobility and self-help skills, and enforcing confidentiality and classroom rules. These positions are on-site at multiple middle schools.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; meet MN paraprofessional competency requirements.
• Non-violent CPI training may be required.
• Experience with students with emotional/behavioral challenges preferred.
• Ability to lift, push, and move up to 50 lbs.
• Flexible and able to work across varied settings.
• Computer skills preferred.

Do you want to make a meaningful difference in students' lives? Wayzata Public Schools is hiring Special Education Paraprofessionals to support students with academic, self-care, and social/behavioral needs, starting the 2026-27 school year.

What You'll Do:

• Implement assigned tasks in conjunction with students' Individual Education Plans (IEPs), under direction of the special education teacher
• Supervise vulnerable students and assist with academic, social, motor, and functional classroom activities
• Observe, document, and communicate student academic and social behavior data to teachers and supervisors
• Assist with mobility, self-help skills (feeding, dressing), toileting, and adaptive equipment
• Monitor halls, common areas, and transportation needs; accompany students to specialists
• Maintain strict student confidentiality and enforce school rules

Hours: 6.75 hrs/day Monday through Friday
Pay: Starting at $24.83/hour
Locations: East Middle, West Middle, Central Middle

Qualifications:

• High School diploma or GED required; must meet Minnesota Department of Education paraprofessional competency requirements
• Non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) training may be required
• Experience with students who present emotional/behavioral challenges preferred
• Ability to lift, pull, and move a minimum of 50 lbs
• Flexible, adaptable, and comfortable working across varied settings
• Computer skills preferred
