Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to work closely with teachers to support students aged 5–21 with autism and related challenges. You will assist with academics, behavior goals, and daily living skills under supervision, fostering a productive classroom environment.

Candidates should have a High school diploma or equivalent, be at least 21, and bring experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
