Job summary

New Story Schools is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with autism and developmental challenges. You will work with teachers to implement goals, assist with transitions, and help maintain a safe, structured learning environment.

Start date is mid-August 2026 for the 2026–2027 school year. Must have a high school diploma, be at least 21, and have experience with individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 21 years old.
• At least three months of experience supporting individuals with learning or behavioral disabilities.
• Knowledge of behavior management and classroom support strategies.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stay calm and consistent during challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support students with academic, behavioral, and self-care goals.
• Implement IEPs and Positive Behavior Support Plans under teacher guidance.
• Assist students with transitions, activities, and personal care as needed.
• Collect and record behavioral and progress data.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment.
