Job summary

The position requires a high school diploma or GED with Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro, or PSC-approved college hours. Knowledge of child development and Microsoft Office, plus strong interpersonal skills, are preferred.

Qualifications

• Requires a Paraprofessional Educator certificate from the Georgia PSC
• HS diploma or GED with Praxis Parapro or GACE Parapro or PSC-approved college hours option
• Experience in licensed child care environment is preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers and students individually or in small groups, reinforcing instruction and supporting classroom management.
• Assist in supervising learning activities and circulating in the classroom.
• Provide instruction as prescribed and reinforce skills using stories, games, or other activities.
• Assist in checking and evaluating student work and maintaining records.
• Support in managing student behavior and ensuring classroom order.
• Prepare lesson plans and learning materials; assist in development of classroom activities.
• Monitor and document student progress and learning deficiencies.
• Coordinate with media center for resources and set up classroom equipment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
