Job summary

Cherokee County School District - GA is seeking a paraprofessional to support classroom teachers and students within a 180-day school year. This salaried, non-exempt role requires assisting with instruction, behavior plans, and data collection to promote student learning.

Prospective candidates should hold an associate or bachelor’s degree and pass the GACE assessments. The position reports to the Principal/Designee and includes responsibilities across resource and regular classroom settings.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree, or passing of the GACE Ethics Assessment and GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.

Responsibilities

• Uses instructional strategies and techniques to support learning as prescribed.
• Provide support to selected students in resource, self-contained and/or regular settings.
• Assist and adhere to plans or accommodations required by IEP, behavior, or healthcare plans.
• Assist with specialized tasks to support diverse student needs.
• Assist students/teachers in using hardware, software, and assistive technology.
• Provide feedback on student performance to the appropriate personnel.
• Conduct small group or individual activities based on lesson plans.
• Assist with student assessment, grading, and data collection.
