Job summary

Young World Physical Education is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional - Preschool to support classroom teachers in the Cherokee County School District (GA) at Ralph Bunche Center in Canton, Georgia. The role begins immediately, with a 180‑day work year and a 7.5‑hour day.

Qualifications include an associate or bachelor’s degree, or passing the GACE Ethics and Paraprofessional assessments. The paraprofessional salary schedule applies; reports to the Principal or designee, and training

Qualifications

• Education level per PSC guidelines; associate or bachelor’s degree.

Responsibilities

• Uses instructional strategies as prescribed by personnel to support learning.
• Provide support to students in various classroom settings.
• Assist with plans or accommodations per IEP/behavior/healthcare plans.
• Assist with use of hardware, software and assistive technology.
• Provide feedback on student performance to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct small group or individual activities based on lesson plans.
• Assist with assessment, grading and data collection.
• Maintain routine records and prepare instructional materials.
• Operate and return needed equipment; assist with inventory.
• Supervise students (classroom and bus monitoring as needed).
• Follow scheduling, attendance, safety rules and board policies.
