Job summary

Applitrack is seeking a Support Staff/Special Education Assistant to aid teachers in meeting IEP goals at Sage Valley Middle School. The role involves individualized and small-group instruction, reinforcing material under certified staff supervision, and maintaining a conducive learning environment.

The ideal candidate will have two years of college coursework or an associate degree, experience as an aide or in education, and strong organizational and communication skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two years of college coursework in education or related field.
• Previous aide or teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and needs of children with disabilities.
• Knowledge of special education classroom practices.
• Ability to instruct students one-on-one and in small groups as directed by the teacher.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers in achieving IEP goals through individual and group instruction.
• Maintain high academic standards and expectations.
• Provide tutorial help and reinforce material as directed by certified staff.
• Provide feedback on student performance and progress.
• Assist with large group activities and classroom management.
