Job summary

Applitrack is seeking an educational assistant at Vallivue Middle School to support classroom teachers through individual and small-group instruction, reinforce learning outcomes, and maintain a positive learning environment. The role emphasizes assisting students with disabilities and following IEP modifications, under supervision of certified staff.

The candidate should have at least two years of college coursework or an Associate's Degree and prefer prior aide or teaching experience.

Qualifications

• Two years of college coursework or an Associate's Degree in education or related field.
• Previous aide or teaching experience preferred.
• Knowledge of child growth and the diverse needs of children with disabilities.
• Knowledge of appropriate special education classroom practices.
• Ability to instruct students one-on-one and in small group settings, at the direction of the General Education Teacher.
• Strong background in teaching methods and developmentally appropriate classroom activities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of subject matter and effective teaching methods.
• Knowledgeable about word processing, databases, spreadsheets, and reports.
• Ability to maintain a learning environment and work well with students, staff, and the public.
• Excellent organizational skills and interpersonal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assists the classroom teacher in achieving goals via individual, small group, or whole group instruction.
• Maintain high academic standards and repeat lessons for Title I students as needed.
• Provide tutorial help and reinforce material using varied methods under certified staff direction.
• Provide immediate feedback on student performance and respond to questions.
• Observe and record students' time on task and assist with locating instructional materials.
• Support the delivery of an effective instructional program and assist with supervision.
• Offer individualized instruction activities and identify pupil needs for appropriate instruction.
• Follow modifications and accommodations as specified in IEPs and assist with informal assessments.
• Aid large group activities and guide independent study and remedial work.
• Maintain accurate records and supervise testing and makeup work.
