Job summary

Peak Charter Academy in Apex, NC seeks a full-time Title 1 paraprofessional to support students with IEP/504 plans, providing instructional and behavioral assistance. The role offers 35 hours per week in a K-8 setting and involves 1:1 or small-group support with a focus on whole-student development.

Candidates should have state-aligned paraprofessional qualifications, strong de-escalation skills, and the ability to navigate school software and systems.

Qualifications

• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
• Prior experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications is preferred.
• Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance per IEP and/or 504 plans.
• Support can be provided 1:1 or in small groups.
• Educate the whole student – academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement result-driven curriculum tailored to each student's needs.
• Attend PD trainings and IEP meetings with the special education team and parents.
