Job summary

PreEminent Charter School in Raleigh, NC is seeking a Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with IEP and 504 plans. This 35-hour/week role emphasizes instructional and behavioral assistance under the guidance of the special education team.

Qualifications

• Must meet state requirements for Title 1 paraprofessional.
• Ability to defuse situations and prevent escalation.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities and/or behavior modifications preferred.
• Aptitude to understand and navigate technical systems.

Responsibilities

• Assess student abilities and provide instructional and behavioral assistance per IEP/504 plan.
• Support 1:1 or in small groups.
• Educate the whole student academically, morally, and socially.
• Implement curriculum designed to meet needs of students with disabilities (resource room, inclusion, pullout).
• Attend professional development and IEP meetings with the special education team.
• Assist with compliance documentation.
