Qualifications

  • Skills in human relations and leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Consistent and punctual on site attendance at the worksite.
  • Work cooperatively with classroom and special education teaching team to provide quality instruction and supervision.
  • Use positive forms of communication with children in the classroom.
  • Demonstrate confidentiality.
  • Help in the care of the classroom including sanitizing classroom toys and materials.
  • Assist special education students in the classroom by providing additional supports such as hand-over-hand guidance, expectations reminders, and movement breaks.
  • Assemble and organize materials to be used during instruction by Classroom Teachers and Special Education Teachers.
  • Interact with children during play by expanding on vocabulary and social skills.
  • Support the Special Education Teacher by documenting objective observation notes.
  • Assist with inventory of supplies and equipment.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Special Education Teacher or Principal.

Education

High school diploma

EVALUATION:

Evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the district’s Personnel Evaluation Policy

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

9 months; 30 hours/week

JOB GOAL:
