Job summary

Bradley County School District is seeking a Special Education Para Pro to work in a self-contained room under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. You will support instructional objectives and assist students with disabilities in activities promoting social, physical, adaptive, and intellectual growth.

You will help with personal care tasks, mobility needs, and behavior management while maintaining confidentiality and safety.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or Praxis preferred.
Some experience with students with disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist classroom teacher to achieve instructional and behavioral objectives.
Work with individuals, small groups, or whole classes as assigned.
Assist with behavior modification as directed by leadership.
Lift, move, and operate adaptive equipment.
Assist students with personal care tasks including toileting and hygiene as needed.
Escort students as assigned by teacher or administrator.
Assist students with mobility needs (lifting, positioning, bus loading/unloading).
Monitor students to maintain a safe and positive learning environment.
Provide programmed practice activities planned by teacher or therapist.
Report student concerns to the teacher and help resolve them.
Assist with breakfast, lunch, and snack duties.
Maintain various records and files.
Perform related work as required.
