Job summary

BRADLEY COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT is seeking a Special Education Para Pro to work in a self-contained classroom under the direction of the Special Education Teacher. The role supports students with disabilities, helping accomplish instructional goals and assisting with personal care as needed.

Responsibilities include assisting teachers, working with individuals or groups, supporting behavior modification, lifting adaptive equipment, monitoring safety, and maintaining records.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Associates Degree or passing Praxis is required.
• Some experience with students with disabilities is preferred.
• Highly Qualified: Praxis or 48 hours of college coursework or an Associate's Degree documented by transcripts.

Responsibilities

• Assist classroom teacher to achieve instructional and behavioral objectives.
• Work with individuals, small groups, or whole classes as assigned.
• Assist with behavior modification as directed.
• Lift, move, and operate adaptive equipment.
• Assist students with personal care tasks as needed.
• Escort and transport students within the school and on field trips.
• Monitor safety and maintain a positive learning environment.
• Maintain records and assist with reporting concerns to teachers.
