Chicago Public Schools seeks a Special Education Classroom Assistant to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a Special Education teacher. The role includes tutoring, personal care, and aiding in daily living skills within classroom and school settings.

The position requires a valid paraprofessional license or equivalent education credits and successful CPR training where required. You will assist in maintaining records and support students during lessons and activities.

Qualifications

• Paraprofessional license or 60 college credits and paraprofessional exam requirements.
• Ability to work with students with diverse disabilities under IEP guidance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction of students with disabilities per IEP under supervision.
• Provide one-on-one tutoring and personal hygiene assistance as needed.
• Record notes on student behavior and progress for teacher reports.
• Accompany students on field trips and support in daily living activities in class.
