Job summary

Qualifications

• Associates’ Degree or 72 quarter college credits or ETS passed.
• Ability to obtain Criminal Justice fingerprint clearance.
• Strong communication, empathy, patience, and customer-service orientation.
• Support the District’s vision, mission, and goals including student success.
• Maintain confidentiality and multi-task in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Communicates clearly and professionally with students, families, staff, and administration.
• Adapts instruction under teacher direction to reinforce classroom objectives.
• Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans and developing daily living and behavioral skills.
• Administers basic first aid and medical assistance as needed.
• Monitors students to maintain a safe, positive learning environment.
• Maintains student files/records relevant to special education.
• Participates in schedule development, lesson planning, and progress discussions.
• Restrains students using Right Response Training when appropriate.
• Performs basic clerical tasks and attends meetings/trainings as directed.
• Other duties as assigned.
