Job summary

Sylvania is seeking a Paraeducator Special Education to support students with disabilities in mainstream, resource, or center-based settings.

The role includes assisting instruction, behavior management, and progress monitoring, with lifting and mobility tasks as needed. A High School Diploma or equivalent is required, plus completion of ParaEducator/ParaPro exams or 60 college credits; strong communication and record-keeping are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent. Personal Care Assistant certification within 30 days.
• 60 semester credits or 90 quarter credits or an associate degree (or higher) or exam completion.
• Good communications, interpersonal and record-keeping skills; ability to use technology.

Responsibilities

• Assists in instruction of students with disabilities in various settings.
• Manages behavior by redirecting, calming or removing disruptive students.
• Monitors and records student progress across academics and daily living skills.
• Assists with physical needs including toileting, lifting and positioning; supports mobility.
• Works in cooperation with staff and supervises students as needed.
