Job summary

Sylvania seeks a Program Aide Paraprofessional to support students with IEPs alongside special education teachers. You will reinforce academic skills, operate classroom technology, and assist with accommodations and instructional tasks.

The role emphasizes collaboration with staff, data collection, and supervising students during transitions and mainstreaming. Attendance, safety, and respectful behavior are essential, with CPI training provided.

Qualifications

• Two years of college study (60 semester hours) required or an associate’s degree.
• ETS Parapro Assessment passing score of 460 required.
• Experience working with secondary students preferred.

Responsibilities

• Work with student or groups on academic skills.
• Assist in instruction, assignments, testing and assessments as directed by teacher.
• Provide accommodations as indicated on IEPs.
• Participate in student data collection and contribute to progress monitoring.
• Assist with routines and transitions, including mainstreamed classes.
• Support classroom management and reinforcement of rules.
• Monitor safety and neighborhood classroom activities as assigned.
