Job summary

Laramie County School District 1 FREEDOM ELEMENTARY SCHOOL - Cheyenne, Wyoming is seeking a Paraeducator – Special Education to assist students with diverse needs under the supervision of a certified teacher. You will reinforce curriculum, adapt activities, and support IEP implementation in a positive classroom environment.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent; experience with school-age children and children with special needs is preferred.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent are required.
No experience required; experience with school-age children preferred.
Experience with children with special needs preferred.
Criminal background check required for hire; First Aid preferred.

Responsibilities

Under the direction of a certified teacher, reinforce curriculum with individual or small groups.
Adapt classroom activities and materials to meet IEP objectives.
Monitor student behavior and maintain a safe learning environment.
Assist with administrative tasks and classroom organization.
Support attendance, records, and collaboration with staff.
Attend meetings and participate in trainings as required.
Provide support in various school settings including bus, playground, and lunchroom.
