Job summary

FCUSD is seeking a Paraeducator Moderate/Severe to support students with disabilities under the supervision of a teacher. You will assist with daily instructional activities, help maintain records, and support life skills and personal care throughout the school day.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma or equivalent; coursework in psychology or related fields is desirable, and crisis intervention training is a plus.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; coursework in psychology, behavior modification, and other related fields desirable but not required.
• Experience: Prefer experience in the care of children with learning disabilities and/or emotional disturbances.
• Training in crisis intervention is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with severe disabilities to meet their physical and emotional requirements throughout the instructional day.
• Assist the teacher with record keeping and perform a variety of instructional support duties in developing life skills and/or physical care activities.
• Support instruction in a manner that may not require constant presence of the teacher, while the teacher retains responsibility for instruction and supervision.
