Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; AA degree or 48 units beyond HS or proficiency test acceptable.
• Experience: Prefer care of children with learning disabilities or emotional disturbances.
• Certifications: First Aid/CPR certificate required; crisis intervention training desirable.
• Screening: DOJ/FBI background check; TB test; mandated reporter training; basic compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with severe disabilities to meet physical and emotional needs.
• Assist teacher with record keeping and instructional support duties.
• Support life skills and/or physical care activities during instructional day.
• Work under supervision of administrator and classroom teacher.
