Job summary

The Hayward Unified School District is seeking a paraeducator to assist severely handicapped and other Special Education students under supervision. You will help instruct, prepare instructional materials, and provide routine clerical support, with emphasis on health, safety, and individual student needs.

Responsibilities include supporting IEP goals, supervising students in classrooms, buses and during activities, aiding with feeding, toileting, positioning and monitoring health conditions, and

Qualifications

Qualifications are any combination equivalent to 48 semester units of college study or an AA Degree or upon passing a NCLB qualifying written examination.

Responsibilities

Assist in instructing students individually or in small groups per learning objectives.
Provide routine clerical support and prepare instructional materials.
Assist with feeding, toileting, positioning and monitoring health conditions.
Supervise students in classroom, lunchroom, and during outdoor activities.
