Job summary

Redwood City School District is seeking a Paraeducator Special Education to support a classroom of students with emotional, educational, physical and/or behavioral needs. You will assist the certificated teacher, reinforce instruction, and help sustain a safe, inclusive learning environment.

This role requires a high school diploma and at least one year of experience working with children, plus the ability to communicate effectively and follow classroom procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and at least 1 year of experience with children.
• Ability to follow teacher instructions and work with students in a classroom setting.
• Willingness to obtain First Aid certification within probationary period.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instruction for students with emotional, educational, physical and/or behavioral needs.
• Prepare learning materials and assist with lesson plans.
• Supervise students during activities and monitor behavior.
• Assist with clerical tasks and attendance.
• Translate communications as needed.
• Attend meetings and in-service programs.
