Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools seeks a paraeducator to support students with IEPs across general education settings. You will assist with implementing instructional programs, monitor student behavior, and collaborate with teachers to promote learning and well-being.

The role involves flexible scheduling and possible overtime to support instructional activities during a teacher's absence, with opportunity to advance after probation.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of child development, instructional strategies and policies applicable to assignment.
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
• Ability to read/write/speak English and support students with special needs.
• Knowledge of or ability to learn SSPGS core competencies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate student mastery of grade-level curriculum or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.
• Provide instructional and classroom management support.
• Assist with implementation of instructional programs and monitor student behavior.
• Support clerical tasks to assist teachers and staff.
