Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools (MCPS) seeks a paraeducator to support students with IEPs in general and special education settings. You will help students master curriculum, assist with instruction and behavior management, and perform clerical tasks to support teachers.

New hires start at a grade 13 with promotion potential to grade 14 after six months of probation and required training hours. Knowledge of core computer tools and SSPGS competencies is valued.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
• Experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• Ability to implement instructional programs and monitor student behavior.
• Familiarity with standard computer tools and web-based instructional resources.

Responsibilities

• Support student learning and well-being for IEP students.
• Facilitate mastery of grade-level curriculum or Alternate Academic Achievement Standards.
• Provide instructional and classroom management supports and clerical tasks.
• Assist teachers and staff across classroom environments.
