Job summary

Montgomery County Public Schools is seeking a paraeducator to support students with IEPs, assisting with instructional activities and behavior management in general education or specialized settings.

The position begins at Grade 15 with potential promotion after probation and required training hours. Flexibility with scheduling and possible off-site activities may be required, and outside duties could be needed.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; bachelor’s degree preferred, coursework in education or behavior management recommended.
• One year of experience with students in structured educational settings preferred.
• If no related coursework, 2–4 years of experience with children in structured settings required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with instructional programs and monitor student behavior.
• Support teachers during absence and maintain classroom activities.
• Perform clerical tasks and use Google Workspace to support instruction.
